The following meditation is about harnessing the powerful feeling of compassion. In our journey today, we will aim to cultivate a compassionate heart, brimming with love, understanding, and kindness. We will strive to release any judgement or hostility, creating an internal environment of peace. Compassionate feelings help us to connect with others, to bridge divides, to heal wounds. So, let’s dig deep and see what we find.
Begin by taking a few deep breaths through your nostrils and out via your mouth. Feel the sensation of the air filling your lungs, and then gently leaving your body. Let each breath anchor you further into this moment, away from worries and stress.
Now, try to visualize your heart as a source of light and warmth. See that light growing larger and bright with each of the breaths you take, filling you up with brilliance and warmth. This light represents compassion. Allow it to permeate through your body and soul.
Now, bring into mind someone you care about deeply. Visualize them in front of you. See their face, their eyes, their gestures. Feel the love and fondness you have for this person.
